Overview

Trip Balance ("the App") is a mobile application for splitting group travel expenses. The App is designed with privacy as a core principle: it operates entirely on your device with no backend servers, user accounts, or cloud storage.

Data Storage

All data you enter in the App, including trips, expenses, participant names, and settings, is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (AsyncStorage). This data is:

• Never uploaded to any server
• Never shared with third parties
• Never used for analytics or advertising
• Deleted when you uninstall the App

Network Requests

The App makes network requests solely to fetch currency exchange rates from a public API. These requests:

• Do not include any personal information
• Do not include any device identifiers
• Are cached locally to minimize network usage
• Are optional: the App works fully offline with manually entered rates

No Accounts

Trip Balance does not require or offer user accounts, login, registration, or any form of authentication. There is no concept of a user profile on any server.

No Tracking

The App does not use any analytics, crash reporting, advertising frameworks, or tracking technologies. No cookies, device fingerprints, or advertising identifiers are collected.

No Third-Party SDKs

The App does not integrate any third-party SDKs that collect user data. All dependencies are open-source UI and utility libraries that operate entirely on-device.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Since the App collects no data, we do not anticipate significant changes.
